!Buenas tardes, Harmony Families! Estamos escribiendo esta carta para informar a todos acerca de una oportunidad y actividad de fotografía en el campus para la graduación de Seniors.
INTRODUCCIÓN:
El Sr. McCollister, la Sra. Winn, todos los miembros de la Facultad de Armonía y el Consejo de la Clase Senior de 2020 han trabajado increíblemente duro y rápido para brindarles a todos la mejor actividad de graduación posible en nuestras circunstancias. SINCRONIZACIÓN:
Para que esta actividad de graduación funcione para todos, requerimos que se registre para un ESPACIO DE TIEMPO específico. En este intervalo de tiempo de 5 minutos, el Senior podrá subir al escenario. Se llamará el nombre del Senior, y el Senior caminará por el escenario. Después de que el Senior salga del escenario, tendremos un fotógrafo listo para tomar fotos de la ceremonia de graduación. Estas fotos de graduación se le entregarán en forma de archivo electrónico y algunas copias físicas. La familia también puede tomar fotografías.

PROCESO:

Requerimos que todos se queden dentro de sus vehículos hasta que esté cerca de su hora de entrar a la tienda de campaña. Esto es para maximizar la seguridad del personal de HSAC, los estudiantes y otros invitados. El personal de tráfico ordenará a las familias de los adultos mayores que se estacionen en el espacio de estacionamiento de su horario frente a la escuela primaria HSI. Siga las instrucciones del personal de tráfico que dirige el tráfico. Aparecer al menos 15 minutos antes de su horario. Good afternoon, Harmony Families! We are writing this letter to inform everyone about an on-campus photography opportunity and activity for the Seniors’ graduation.

INTRODUCTION:
Mr. McCollister, Ms.Winn, all of the Harmony Faculty, and the Seniors Class of 2020 Council have worked incredibly hard and quick to give everyone the best graduation activity that is possible with our circumstances. The following process has been designed to keep everyone as safe as possible from exposure to the COVID-19 virus. We have attempted to join together two different needs: a ceremony that is safe for people, and an activity that involves Seniors and families.
DATES:
On Friday, May 22nd, Seniors must come to campus to pick up their caps and gowns (and, we hope, any cords or stoles the Senior has earned). The HOURS are the same as the locker-contents pick-up. See other announcements about those hours.
On Saturday, May 23rd, the school will set up a tent and stage outside of the school so the Senior can walk across it for pictures and video. The tent and stage will be in the back, between the cafeteria and gym, under the awning.
TIMING:
In order for this graduation activity to work for everyone, we require that you sign up for a specific TIME SLOT. In this 5-minute time slot, the Senior will be able to come on-stage. The Senior’s name will be called, and the Senior will walk across the stage. After the Senior comes off the stage, we will have a photographer ready to take graduation ceremony pictures. These graduation pictures will be given to you in the form of an electronic file and a few physical copies. Family are also welcome to take pictures.

PROCESS:
After walking across the stage and getting pictures, each Senior’s family has up to 4 more minutes to take pictures. Every Senior’s walk across the stage will be recorded with our professional videographer and compiled into one large video. This video will be a part of our graduation ceremony video that will be broadcast live on June 20th at 6:00 p.m. CST.
MAXIMUM TIME:
The maximum time for each Senior to spend on-stage and in-tent is 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Then the Senior and family must exit, so the next Senior and family can come in. Note: Late arrivals will be put at the end of the timeline. They will not be permitted to enter the tent and stage until everyone else has finished.
DRESS CODE:
Seniors should wear their cap and gown, and (if we have received them in-time) any honor cords or stoles. Under that, Seniors should wear formal attire. Caution: We will have a stage, so Senior girls must be careful wearing high heels. All HSAC dress code guidelines apply during this time.
Dress Code Approvals: Caps must be approved by a faculty member before walking the stage and being photographed. No inappropriate cap designs or informal attire will be permitted inside to be photographed. Seniors are strongly advised to check attire with a Faculty member BEFORE arriving on-campus that date. Consulting with Ms. Callis in advance is recommended.
HOW MANY GUESTS:
Maximum of 2 cars per Senior and 10 guests total to enter the tent. Each Senior has a maximum of 5 minutes to enter the stage tent, to walk across, to take pictures with family, and to exit. We have a timeline and cannot accommodate longer time spans.
TRAFFIC FLOW/PARKING:
We require that everyone stay inside their vehicles until it is near their time to enter the stage tent. This is to maximize safety for HSAC staff, students, and other guests. Traffic Staff will direct the Seniors’ families to park in their time slot’s parking space in front of HSI Elementary. Please follow the directions of the Traffic Staff who are directing traffic. Show up at least 15 minutes before your time slot. If you miss your time slot, we cannot guarantee we will have time at the end to add you in.

Harmony Public Schools may approve examinations for acceleration to test a student’s essential knowledge and skills for each primary school grade level and for credit for secondary school academic subjects.
A student in grades 6–12 will be given credit for an academic subject in which he or she has had no prior instruction if the student scores 80% or above on a criterion-referenced test for the applicable test (see AE, below). Credits obtained through CBE (without instruction) will not be calculated for GPA and class rank. Those tests require 70% or above scores.
Students are required to apply for testing at least one month prior to the first day of testing. A student may not attempt to earn credit by examination for a specific high school course more than two times. Students may take a specific exam only once during each testing window.

∙ What is the difference between Credit by Exam (CBE) and Acceleration Exam (AE)?
Acceleration Exams (AEs) are given to any student without prior instruction in a course or specialized tutoring, so they may earn course credit. Credit-by-Exam (CBEs) is given for credit recovery for those students who have received instruction, yet credit was not awarded for the course.
∙ What score must I make?
Students must receive an 80 or above to receive credit for a course for acceleration (AEs). A score of 70 or above is needed for credit recovery (CBEs).
∙ How long do I have to complete an exam?
Three hours are allowed for most exams.
∙ Where are tests administered?

∙ How often are Acceleration Exams or Credit-by-Exams offered by HSA Carrollton?
Exams are offered twice in the Fall and twice in the Spring.
∙ How do I find out about my score?
Your score will be mailed to your school. The school counselor will give you your official score report.
∙ Will my exam grade be on my transcript?
For CBE, Yes, and the grade will be factored into GPA calculations as a non-weighted course. For AE, Yes, but the grade will not be calculated for GPA and class rank.
∙ May I retake the test?
Yes, one additional time. State law permits a maximum of 2 times per test.
