3D Printing Club
DECA/ Mock Trial

Grade Level: 6th-12th
Purpose: DECA, a national association of marketing education students, provides teachers and members with educational and leadership development activities to merge with the education classroom instructional program. Students will also learn courtroom style procedures to host mock trials and debates.

Purpose: Presented in partnership with FTW Robotics and Rice University, HPS Drone Race is the perfect event offering elementary, middle school and high school students an opportunity to get hands-on experience in STEM education in the form of an affordable, fast-paced game.

Purpose: FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to children ages 4-16* through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together.

Purpose: HOSA offers 58 competitive events, ranging from skill-based to leadership and team-based. The event groups are as follows: Health science, health professions, leadership, and recognition events. Members compete at the regional, state, and international levels. Those who place in the top three positions at the state level are given the opportunity to compete at the international level.

Middle School Math Club

Purpose:
- Math Club only open to MS students (grades 6-8) and is an enrichment opportunity for students who excel and/or are interested in high level math.
- Solid mental math and logical thinking skills are required - students will need to complete a screening test to gauge suitability for the club.
- In Semester 2, all Math Club students will compete in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 8, and the school MathCounts team will be selected from the members to represent the school at UT Dallas.
- Meets on Wednesday & Thursday each week and both sessions are mandatory.
- Students may be offered community engagement opportunities to help elementary grade level students at HSI with math.
Science Olympiad

Purpose:
Service Leadership Society (SLS) is a club for students to explore meaningful public policy topics, conduct research, form opinions, and develop a “bill” to address the selected public policy issue. Throughout the bill design process, students will learn the intricacies of Texas’ legislative process including how a bill becomes law. During the year, SLS clubs gather for a state conference to present bill drafts to their peers and have the opportunity to debate and vote on all bills.

Purpose: Senior Class Council is the leadership team of the senior class. They help organize events for the seniors throughout the school year, including senior sunrise, senior parking painting, senior movie night, senior sunset, graduation, etc.
